The ACC was formed as a result of discussions between publishers who
are members of the Art Publisher's Association (APA). The size of
the problem, and the great concerns of many member publishers led
the group to focus on it. The ACC is not affiliated in any way with
the APA. The timeline and key steps are noted below:

1, 2002 - APA decides copyright issue should handled in
a separate organization.

7, 2002 - First telephone conference of ACC founders.

28, 2002 - The Plan is largely approved, bylaws and articles
are filed.

18, 2002 - Office is set up, bank account in place, web
site up, phone in place.

22, 2002 - Kickoff Meeting in Atlanta - 200+ attendees.
